The worker and the missionary.
I implore you to seek the difference between either individual. Being on both sides of the spectrum, I have come to the conclusion of “no-difference”.
In fact, Jesus Himself talks to His disciples on their first mission, “…the worker is worthy of his support.” (Matthew 10:10) Christian “workers” are viewed as beggars and pests, always looking to pick a pocket for their own gain.
The mindset, from the Missionary spectrum, is they desire the same support as any artist, musician, banker, politician, or teacher wants. We are all looking for that person that comes along side, and partner in the influential change of individuals through their work.
Obama promises change, hope, and a better state of living.
Missionaries, no better than Obama, go to the poor, the hopeless, the unhealthy, and speak hope, joy, love, and a reason to live.
The Missionaries look to their friends, their family, and the people, just as politicians, for support and a partnering in the change of nations.
A verse to describe everyone in their work in light of who God is,
“We are unworthy slaves; we have done only that which we ought to have done.”
In the end, all that was commanded of you, was it accomplished?
